Summer Project '19

For our 2019 summer project, we had to create three different mood boards with the idea of introducing us to the world of trends ahead of our Styling Project.

We had to create one mood board that portrays my trend prediction for Spring/Summer 2020, I was inspired by the WGSN trend colours but felt that they needed to be muted to give that more nostalgic '70s feel. I found a variety of images which represent my trend colours in different forms and how the colours can be applied within industries other than interior design.

For the second mood board, we had to research the best trends within interior design. I chose to use two main images which I could then pull out key pieces from. For example the use of velvets, rich colour schemes and mid-century modern furniture.

The last mood board had to reflect the worst trends in history, this was quite a fun board to do, I got to see some of the more questionable design choices that people made in the '60s, '70s and '80s! I decided just to compile a selection of images which I thought were bad trends, a lot of these trends have not returned which implies to me that they were not popular at the time they were invented.
