Styling Project

This module was very trend orientated and taught me a lot about understanding trends and why we have them. The end result for this project was to produce a magazine for a pre-existing publication, the magazine had to include a trend forecast article, meet the maker and shop the look.
The class was split into groups for this project so we could work as teams to produce the meet the maker feature, the rest of the project was independent work. In our group, we chose a ceramicist as our maker, this led the rest of my project down the route of natural design, wellness and shopping local. I chose to create my magazine for Enki because I felt what I wanted to create would suit this type of publication.
I created a moodboard on Photoshop that I wanted to summarise my trend forecast. I created a trend that combines the Hygge technique, and trends Scandinavian modern and sustainability to create the style 'Simply Natural'. The idea is that you shop more locally, or shop more sensibly, you also spend more time with the family. The style of this trend is based on natural and calming colours, using textiles to create a more calming environment.

For my trend forecast, I created my own photoshoot using items I had at home. You can see a behind the scenes photo here. In the future, I will hire out a studio to be able to get more consistent lighting for my photos. I also took photos of other items including soft furnishings. I am quite happy with the outcome of these photos despite the fact they were done in my living room!
Below are some behind the scenes images of our meet the maker photoshoot, we shot on location which meant we had to hire out equipment to take with us. This was a really great opportunity for us.
